About Sam Hill Oil & Shoco Oil, Inc.
Where It All Started...
Sam Hill Oil Inc. began in 1947 when Sam Hill Sr., an Amoco agent, started his own business as an Amoco Jobber. Later, Sam Hill, Jr. joined and eventually bought the business, moving the company to Brighton, CO.
Since then, Sam Hill Oil’s customer base has expanded, opening up several locations, while maintaining the quality customer service for which the company is known.
Where We Are Now...
In July 1997, Shoco Oil Inc. was built and began doing business in Commerce City, CO. Shoco Oil is a locally owned petroleum distributor in Colorado in its third generation. Shoco is also Chevron’s only 1st Source Elite marketer for Chevron Lubricants in Colorado. In fact, Shoco Oil is a 1st Source Elite Marketer as well as the largest distributor for Chevron products in the Rocky Mountain Region.
In May 2006, Scott Hohnstein, president of Shoco Oil, had the forethought to begin a new and exciting division of our companies. It is Shoco Industrial Solutions. SIS is an ISOCLEAN Services Provider for a five state region. Shoco Industrial Solutions provides Site Assessments, Expert Fluid Analysis, Contamination Control, and System Monitoring. In 2013, Scott and Becky Hohnstein partnered with Chevron to develop and launch the Chevron ISOCLEAN® Certified Lubricants Program. The only lubricants program of its kind.
We are also a diamond distributor for Graco Lubricant Equipment and the only Distributor of VP Race Fuel in Colorado.
We are growing and changing...
It doesn’t stop here. The company recently completed:
- Construction of a new bulk fuel and lube storage and commercial fueling center serving the Colorado Springs and southern part of the state.
- Completion of the Shoco Springs Oil Analysis Laboratory
- Expansion of our ISOCLEAN Services division.
- Became Colorado’s Only Chevron ISOCLEAN Certified Lubricants Marketer
